The expo was launched on the suggestion of Italian gelato makers of artisans who wanted an international fair to support their activity.
The numbers of Sigep 2018 are impressive: 160.000 buyers from all over the world, 1250 exhibitors, 900 events 32 competitions, 92 conferences with 279 international speakers, 13 classes run by international masters of gelato, pastry and coffee.
Three are the main competitions of the expo: the Gelato World Cup, the Ladies World Pastry Championship, and the Italian Barista Championship.
This year the show will be also enriched of a new event dedicated to the United States passion for artisanal gelato. Going Global will be a great opportunity for those who want to open a gelato shop in the US and become gelato masters.
