The undisputed Italian Motor Valley will be the centre of the design, engineering and production of the new full-electric and plug-in cars. The American Silk EV and the Chinese FAW have signed the joint venture contract for the design and the production of the new vehicles in the heart of the Italian Motor Valley. The new vehicles which will be created and developed in Emilia Romagna, where Silk EV has its headquarters, while the large scale production will also take place in Changchun, home of FAW.
In the near future the two companies, who have already indicated Walter De Silva as head designer for the new production line, will also choose together with Emilia Romagna region administration the best location for the establishment of the new automotive centre.
The Italian Motor Valley with its 16.500 companies is a unique industrial centre counting a 16 billion turnover and a 7 billion export. This is the land of the Italian historical brands such as Automobili Lamborghini, Dallara, Ducati, Ferrari, Haas, Magneti Marelli, Maserati, Pagani and Toro Rosso and will be the future of the automotive industry.
